About This Cause
At Vegan Hub Africa, we believe knowledge is the key to lasting change. Our Education & Awareness Program breaks down the myths around plant-based foods, that they are boring, expensive, or impractical, and replaces them with practical knowledge, real recipes, and hands-on experience. We bring nutrition workshops to schools, seminars to students and caregivers, and outreach into communities, so that anyone from Nairobi slums to Turkana villages can see how plant-based meals can be tasty, affordable, and deeply nourishing.
What We Do:
- Host interactive school seminars that include cooking demonstrations, taste tests, and budget-friendly meal planning.
- Train peer educators and student clubs to carry messages home, sharing recipes and leadership skills.
- Develop outreach materials, including recipe cards, myth-vs-fact guides, nutrition posters that are culturally relevant, visually engaging, and easy to use.
- Partner with local institutions and organizations to widen reach and build sustainable channels of impact.
Impact Stories:
“After attending the Vegan Hub seminar, students at Kapropita Primary formed a recipe club and began sharing plant‐based meals at home,” says one teacher. In Turkana, women who thought couscous or rice were their only affordable options now experiment with amaranth, cowpeas, and leafy greens; reducing food costs and gaining new confidence in cooking.
